10,000 Degrees Childcare Application 2016-2017
Award Amount


The Child Care Scholarship Program provides Marin County residents financial support for child care costs. The application is open to parents with demonstrated financial need who are pursuing their undergraduate degree or professional license/technical certification.

10,000 Degrees provides child care scholarships ranging from $500 to $9,000 per child for parents who are enrolled in college. The scholarship pays for a portion of a child’s day care while the parent is enrolled in college.

In addition to this application students are to submit:
  • Transcripts representing all undergraduate coursework if applicable. (Unofficial is acceptable)
  • Financial aid award letter from current school (if applicable)
  • 2014 or 2015 Federal Tax Return
  • Current semester class schedule
  • Provider Verification form completed by the child care provider (available on our website
  • A copy of your child care provider’s IRS Form W9 (ask your provider)
  • A copy of child care provider’s license (ask your provider)

If eligible, you are required to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) before applying for any 10,000 Degrees scholarships.  The FAFSA is found at  You will need the information provided by the FAFSA on this application.  In addition, please have your information ready (2014 or 2015 tax return, W-2s, etc.). 

Application due date is rolling, notifications will start in June.  Summer semester assistance available.
